Can You Live For A Week Without Google?

Recently RapidShare blocked the BSNL IP range from using their services. People quickly found alternatives for using the service. But what if your ISP itself blocks a service? What would you do if your ISP blocked access to all the Google Services? That means you won’t be able to log-in to Gmail, watch videos on YouTube, access AdSense or AdWords, find your directions on Maps, blog through Blogger. Most of the sites would load very slowly due to Analytics not loading for you.
Google Not Found. How would this effect your life?

  1. There will be an initial shock, followed by a quick search for an alternative to all the features of Google that I am using.

You see, nothing is indispensible – there are better, worse or equivalent alternatives to eveything in this open source world.

But the first few days will be crazy, for sure 🙂

  2. @Arun A quick search for an alternative to all the features of Google would be a very nice idea but finding it would be a pretty tough job.

  3. The biggest problem would be all my data that’s at Google. I really need a good backup at not-Google 😉

It’s affect (verb) instead of effect (noun) by the way.

  4. The way things stand now “no way”, but then if anything goes missing replacements are always available, this is the internet right??? BTW optimized for Firefox should not mean it does not work in Opera. Opera is better than Firefox anyway and my choice, but sadly I cannot leave comments on this blog on Opera. Can ya fix it?

  5. @Vincent “not-Google”. Nice!

@moserw We check this blog’s compatibility with FireFox as nobody of use Opera here so we can’t write it optimized for Opera too without even running it in it. Thanks anyway. We’ll put this in our future checklist.

  6. Beneficial info and excellent design you got here! I want to thank you for sharing your ideas and putting the time into the stuff you publish! Great work!
