RapidShare Blocked BSNL IP Range

RapidShare has blocked the BSNL IP range. If you are in India and have a BSNL broadband connection try accessing rapidshare.com.

At the time of publishing this post visitors were getting a message while accessing the wesbite:

Massive RapidShare hack attempts detected. IP block 59.90.0.0 – 59.99.255.255 blocked. Please call your internet provider.

They have not given any details about the IP address range banning. BSNL user can just sit and wait for the guys at RapidShare to un-ban the IP address range.

UPDATE: Our readers report that the site is accessible now.

  1. Yes, IP is still blocled by RS as of this writing ………. August 2, 2008 time 16.20 UTC

    73

  2. v should ask RS whats the exact problem
and reason for blocking thel ips
and they should give refund or should
give us the days v lost.

  3. IP is still blocked. Is it ethical and legal to ban a wide ranging IP like this. What kind of legal action can be taken on rapidshare by the users who has paid for the services. Any pointer ?

    Dinesh,

  4. RS server was targeted second time in this week. therefore BSNL And MTNL in india and some middle east isp’s have been blocked

  5. why this is happend. it is still blocked at this time also. 3 aug 2007 10.45 pm.
when this banned ip addresses will be unbanned?

  6. It is better that they should have some mechanism to prevent such hacking. Instead they have decided for banning Ips from BSNL and MTNL. It is really bad.

    It is continuing even now ( 4th Aug ’08 – 7.30 AM )

  7. Guys its not a problem with Rapid Share. Any hosting site will do that same. In technical terms highest number of hackers are from India and Russia and we guys do not have the tendency to pay for any program that we use because we dont have any IT law enacted or any treaty signed. Putting it on general terms, if you run a hosting company and if you want every tom dick and harry to access your server free of cost then how can u gain profits and expand your business. and when you speak about Rapidshare there are about 1 million visitors every second hitting its server. I don’t think even you can give your computer free of cost to get it raped..

  8. @Anonymous RapidShare is researching on this problem and they can’t promise a full restoration date as of now.

  9. @Brandon
    right answer 😉

some people do like shit and all others get the problem.

    @all
call your ISP and change your IP range. this is possible and RS sould work again :).

    dont hack morons 🙂

  10. “Brandon” you idiot i think u r talking on behalf of the company.

useless fellow y should you run the company in first place and take people hard earned money when u cant give service.

no matter the whole world rapes your or brandons computer/server.

when we paid we deserve service – no excuse.
